NOVEMBER 2019

11/7/19

Welcome to The Gambier House.  At 28 years, we are Gambier’s longest continuously operating bed and breakfast.   We hope you’ll like us on Facebook: gambierhousebandb.

How quickly the seasons change here; last week warm with beautiful fall foliage – today the leaves all gone and snow showers!  The rush to Thanksgiving is on.  We do have some rooms available throughout November.  During Kenyon’s week of holiday break, the Village is quiet but lovely.

There are still a couple of rooms open for 11/8-9 should you wish to get away and hear T.C. Boyle (the Kenyon Review Literary Festival keynote speaker).  Or you can plan a stayover visit to attend “The Art of Trees” on 12/12; Kenyon’s Gamelan Ensemble on 12/3; the Chamber Singers on 12/7; the Symphonic Wind Ensemble on 12/8 or the College’s Fall Dance Concert 12/12-14.  Please check Kenyon.edu for more specifics and visit gambierhouse.com for room availability for these and other wonderful events.

And don’t forget the usual area attractions: the Brown Family Environmental Center, the Kokosing Gap Trail, the Kokosing River (we can guide you toward canoe and kayak rentals), the Kokosing Nature Preserve and Amish Country (we’re just a hop/skip/jump away).

Roam the shelves at the Kenyon Bookstore and get a bite at The Kenyon Inn, the Village Inn, the Gambier Deli or Chilitos.  Wiggin St. Coffee is a great place to continue the wake-up after a gourmet breakfast with us.

Without the 300 year old pine tree (you can pay homage at its stump) the view from the front porch is unobstructed.  If a cold porch is not your style, there’s a fire in the hearth.  We hope to see you soon!
