The
Front Parlor: Just steps away from the front door, the Front
Parlor offers a quiet place to read or receive friends. In addition
to the fireplace, the Parlor offers two wingback chairs and a sofa
for relaxing. |
The Family Room: This comfortable
room offers a variety of entertainments. Lounge on the overstuffed
sofas and enjoy a good read from the communal
bookshelves. Play games such as chess, checkers or Scrabble.
Watch television (featuring basic cable) or watch a video from our
library of classic favorites.
Also in the Family Room is one extension of the private guest
telephone line. Local, credit card or collect calls only. |
Dining Room: Attention to detail is the first thought most have
upon entering the Dining Room. With its wood paneling and rich wallpaper,
the Dining Room is an elegant setting for each delicious gourmet
breakfast prepared by proprietor E.J. Heer. Guests can expect to
enjoy such dishes as French toast, whole-wheat pancakes, herbed
scrambled eggs, fresh fruit, muffins, coffee cakes and sweet rolls,
made with local, mostly organic, produce (in season). |
| Kitchen: At The Gambier House, guests have
access to the kitchen, including the microwave and refrigerator space
(when available). Complimentary soda, sweets and fruit are provided
along with instant coffee and tea for a quick snack or pick-me-up at
most any hour of the day. |
Bedrooms
Old
Library: This former library on the first floor of the main
house has been transformed into a bedroom with a double bed and a
twin day bed to accommodate a maximum of 3 people. The private bathroom
includes a walk-in shower, sink and toilet. |
The
Victorian Room: This charming room features a 19th century
double bed. The private bath includes a toilet, stall shower and sink.
The Victorian room accommodates either one or two. |
The
Green Room: This room has a sofa sleeper that pulls out into
an additional double bed. One of the hidden stairway entrances is
located in the Green Room. It also has a fireplace. The private bath
includes toilet, sink and stall shower. At maximum capacity, this
room sleeps four. |
The
Drawer Room: The smallest of the double bed rooms, and the
most intriguing, The Drawer Room features a double bed and private
bathroom with a bathtub and shower. Believed to have been the ‘box
room,’ this space features a wall of drawers and hidden access
to the bathroom. Maximum capacity for this room is 2 people. |
 The
Master Bedroom: This room, with a queen size bed and fireplace,
features a magnificently appointed bathroom, including large bathtub
with shower and makeup table. A favorite of brides-to-be and second
honeymooners, The Master Bedroom accommodates a maximum of two people. |
Carriage House Suite
 Located at the end of the breezeway away
from the main house, The Carriage House is a bit of home
away from home. The first floor of this duplex suite includes a living
room with two sofas (one a double sleeper),
television (with cable and VCR); a small kitchen with stove, sink and refrigerator;
bathroom with stall shower, sink and toilet.
On
the second floor there is a master bedroom with a queen size bed and,
at the top of the stairs in the alcove, a twin day bed. The suite is heated
separately from the main house and has its own window air conditioning
units. Maximum capacity for The Carriage House is five people.
